Network path

Latency, packet loss, the route packets take, and which common ports answer — measured from our server to your domain's address. A web page can't send an ICMP ping or open a raw socket, so this is one you normally need a terminal for.

Ping, traceroute and port reachability, from our server.

What it tells you

Ping shows round-trip latency and whether any packets are being dropped. Traceroute lists each router hop between our server and yours — useful for spotting where a route slows down or dies. Open ports confirms which services are actually reachable (HTTPS on 443, mail on 25/465/587, and so on) rather than just configured.

Reachability is measured from a single vantage point (our server), so treat it as a health check, not a security audit. For the certificate on 443 see ssl.studio; for mail ports in depth, the mail server tester.
